In brief

Forms and email

When you fill in a form (enquiry, valuation, property alerts), I receive the details you enter: for example your name, phone number or email address, town and information about your property or what you are looking for. I use this data only to respond to your enquiry, to advise you and, where applicable, to carry out a mandate. I only pass it on to third parties if you wish or if it is necessary for a mandate, for example to a notary.

The forms are received via my hosting provider Netlify (see below) and delivered to me by email. My mailbox runs on Google. Emails you send me directly are also stored with Google.

Hosting

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., San Francisco, USA. When a page is accessed, technically necessary data such as the IP address, time, page accessed and browser are briefly recorded in server logs. This is necessary to deliver the website securely and reliably.

Visitor statistics without cookies

To see how many visitors come and which pages are read, I use Cloudflare Web Analytics (Cloudflare, Inc., San Francisco, USA). The tool does not set cookies, stores nothing in your browser and does not create profiles of individual visitors. It records, for example, the page accessed, the previous website (such as a search engine), the device and the loading time. According to Cloudflare, your IP address is not stored.

Transfer abroad

Netlify, Google and Cloudflare may also process data in the USA. These providers are certified under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which ensures an adequate level of data protection under Swiss law.

Fonts

The fonts are stored directly on this website. No connection is made to Google Fonts or other font providers.

Links to other websites

This website links to Instagram, LinkedIn, my Google profile with reviews, and virtual tours by Giraffe360. Data is only transmitted to these providers when you click such a link, and their privacy policies then apply.

How long I keep data

I keep your details for as long as necessary for your enquiry or a mandate and as required by statutory retention obligations, for example for business records.

Your rights

You can request information at any time about the data I process about you and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. To do so, write to info@bybirnstiel.ch. If you disagree with my response, you can contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC/EDÖB).
